- When the orcs of Thrall's Horde began exploring the world around them, they found the Badlands of Khaz Modan to be to their liking. The red rocks and soil along with the harsh climate reflected their new homeland of Durotar as well as their old homeworld of Draenor. Therefore, despite its great distance from any other Horde outpost, the small fort of Kargath, named after former Shattered Hand chieftan, Kargath Bladefist, was built in the northwest corner of the region.
On the orders of Thrall himself, the Kargath Expeditionary Force makes frequent excursions into the arid landscape. The land has been found to be a rich source of mineral ores and gems as well as the home to the traitorous tribe of Dustbelcher ogres that abandoned the Horde after the Second War.
Kargath's Flight Path links Hammerfall and Undercity in the north to Grom'Gol, Booty Bay, and Stonard in the south.
